As a nurse supervisor, you provide optimal, individualized care for your patients in collaboration with other disciplines. Nurse Supervisors will be responsible for managing patient care and coordinating the interdisciplinary team, working together with other health team members to improve patient outcomes. Coordinates services during shifts as a member of the Patient Care Team. Providing nursing care to patients using the nursing process in a safe and effective manner. Directs and supervises hospital personnel delivering patient care. In the absence of the Department Directors, coordinate all hospital activities. Ensures the coordination and appropriateness of acute hospital admissions by serving as the direct liaison between physicians, hospital staff, and the community. Participate with Nursing Directors in the ongoing management of patient care units and other hospital departments. Assesses, plans, diagnoses, implements, evaluates, and modifies patient care utilizing expert knowledge, nursing process, theories, and principles of psycho-social and physical sciences. Practices independently within professional nursing standards, including the ANA's Code of Ethics and ANA Bill of Rights. Achieves quality outcomes while adhering to the Florida Nursing Practice Act and policies of the hospital and departments. A nurse in this position is responsible for the quality of nursing services delivered under their direction or by others under their direction. It is done through participation in quality assurance or performance improvement programs. In addition to the above, performs other duties as assigned.
