About The Position

This position is within the Professional Development department and is a part-time role requiring 40 hours every two weeks. The work location is UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham. The role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities related to nursing clinical areas across the continuum of care. The professional will serve as a strategic consultant for nursing clinical performance initiatives, creating, implementing, and evaluating multi-faceted competency-based programs, delivery mechanisms, and clinical performance. This includes collaborating with leaders and staff to assess nursing educational needs and competencies, developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing and clinical educational plans/programs, and utilizing methods, measurements, and tools to evaluate the achievement of learning goals. The role also involves consulting on the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of Nursing Professional Development (NPD) programs and performance processes that support core nursing and clinical competency across the organization, as well as managing performance and competency standards for inter-professional programs to support practice at the highest extent of licensure.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing AND professional licensure at time of hire required.
