About The Position

Olmsted Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Owatonna Ambulatory Surgical Center. This is a 1.0 FTE position with a day shift schedule. The starting pay ranges from $35.01 to $48.15 per hour, based on experience. Offers for external candidates are typically made between the minimum and three-quarters of the range. Olmsted Medical Center values its employees and provides a comprehensive benefits package for those employed at 0.5 FTE or higher.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited professional nursing program
  • Current Minnesota Registered Nurse license
  • BLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
  • PALS certification within 90 days of hire

  • Previous operating room and PACU experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conducting thorough assessments of patients’ health status through data collection, analysis, and synthesis to establish a baseline and develop a personalized plan of care. Addressing changes in patient conditions promptly.
  • Collaborating with the healthcare team to create and coordinate an integrated plan of care.
  • Developing, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Executing independent nursing actions while adhering to prescribed interventions from licensed healthcare providers.
  • Delegating nursing tasks and overseeing assigned activities to support the implementation of the care plan.
  • Providing safe, effective nursing care that fosters a therapeutic environment for optimal patient outcomes.
  • Advocating for patients to ensure their best interests are represented in all aspects of care.
  • Evaluating patient responses to interventions and making necessary adjustments to enhance effectiveness.
  • Coordinating care across settings and disciplines, ensuring seamless healthcare management.
  • Promoting health, preventing disease, and engaging in care coordination and case finding efforts.
  • Designing and implementing patient education plans based on individual needs, evaluating their effectiveness.
  • Participating in the development and improvement of healthcare policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Upholding professional accountability by recognizing personal competency limits and ensuring quality care is delivered within the expected scope of nursing education and experience.
  • Supervising, managing, and evaluating nursing practice while maintaining professional competencies pertinent to the area of care.
  • Handling sensitive patient information in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the healthcare team to facilitate optimal care.
  • Providing direct patient care in outpatient settings, including education for patients and families.
  • Overseeing patient care across different phases, including pre-procedure, intra-procedure, PACU (Phase I), and post-procedure (Phase II).
  • Administering moderate sedation under direct physician supervision.
  • Completing patient assessments by reviewing medical history, current medications, and allergies.
  • Interpreting ECG rhythms in PACU and monitored sedation.
  • Providing care across all life stages, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Directing care for patients undergoing surgical procedures.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
