About The Position

The RN Nurse Resident provides bedside care to acute-care patients in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting. The role is intended for licensed registered nurses with less than one year of experience and is based in the 48-bed Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. Patient populations include post-surgical patients, respiratory patients, patients with sepsis or infections, and patients experiencing exacerbations of chronic illnesses. Care includes telemetry, continuous monitoring, and specialized nursing to support safe recovery and transition between levels of care. The nurse resident administers care under the supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse, and meets Orlando Health and unit/department competency requirements. The position is variable full-time, with three 12-hour day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and rotating weekends.
