The Medical Short Stay (MSS) unit is located on the 8th floor of the Tower and has 26 beds, including 12 private and 6 semi-private rooms. The unit provides care to patients with blood cancer diagnoses and autoimmune diseases, offering a variety of infusion therapies such as biological and anticancer therapies. Nurses on this unit are educated on new protocols and participate in innovation or new treatments for this special patient population. The unit also serves as a collection center for cellular therapies, including Stem Cells, Chimeric Antigen Receptors (Car- T Cells), and Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (TILS) via apheresis procedures. Nurses working in MSS are educated and trained to be competent in all aspects of nursing care within the department.
