Position Summary The Nurse Manager is accountable for the leadership, management, and advancement of clinical operations within the Inpatient General Surgery Unit. This leader will oversee daily operations, staff development, quality and patient safety initiatives, resource management, and regulatory compliance while ensuring the delivery of safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. The successful candidate will inspire and empower nursing staff, lead through change, promote evidence-based practice, and create an environment where colleagues feel valued, supported, and engaged.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut or eligibility to obtain
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Previous nursing leadership or management experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or related healthcare leadership degree
  • Progressive leadership experience in an acute care hospital setting
  • Experience in surgical services, medical-surgical nursing, or inpatient surgical care
