About The Position

MercyOne Dubuque is seeking a Nurse Director of Periop Services to lead, manage, and advance people, processes, and programs supporting patient care. This role is responsible for operations and optimization leadership, directing clinical departments, and balancing staff leadership with broader organizational direction. The Nurse Director will be accountable for the performance, regulatory readiness, and results of a strategic area or multiple departments. This position is based at MercyOne Dubuque, a Magnet-designated hospital recognized for its nursing excellence. The hospital is a leading facility in the tri-states, offering specialized services like a comprehensive cardiology center, Level II regional neonatal intensive care unit, and a new Cancer Center. It also includes a trauma center, inpatient rehabilitation unit, orthopedics, pharmacies, palliative care, and various outpatient and community services. MercyOne operates skilled nursing units and a nursing home. The Nurse Director will embody the Trinity Health Culture, demonstrating its Mission, Values, Vision, Actions, and Promise. Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Master’s degree is required within five (5) years of hire, with continuous enrollment in a relevant graduate program documented.
  • Current Iowa RN license.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical nursing experience is required.
  • Relevant supervisory experience required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required within three (3) months of hire.
  • Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter for both Child and Dependent Adult Abuse training is required within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health and MercyOne.

  • Specialty practice certification is preferred.
