About The Position

The RN Supervisor is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents while overseeing and coordinating nursing services during the assigned shift. This role ensures high-quality resident care, compliance with regulatory standards, and effective leadership of the nursing team in a long-term care environment.

Requirements

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Georgia.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of three (3) years of nursing experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation setting.
  • Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
  • Supervise and support nursing staff during assigned shifts to ensure quality resident care and regulatory compliance.
  • Administer medications accurately and safely, monitoring residents for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
  • Assess residents' needs and communicate changes in condition to physicians, residents, families, and other approved parties.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans.
  • Monitor and follow up on critical laboratory results, physician orders, treatment requests, and resident care concerns.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Coordinate care services to support each resident's person-centered plan of care, including sleep preferences, social engagement, and individualized activities.
  • Observe residents for signs of emotional distress, behavioral changes, or decreased social interaction and intervene as appropriate.
  • Respond to and triage telephone calls, inquiries, and resident concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Promote a positive, compassionate, and resident-focused environment for residents, families, and staff.
  • Assist with staff training, coaching, and performance monitoring as needed.
