About The Position

Jupiter Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to work per diem night shifts, requiring 2 shifts per week. Jupiter Medical Center is recognized for its commitment to safety, quality, and patient satisfaction, holding a 4-star rating from CMS. The RN will apply nursing process and theories, utilizing evidence-based practices to provide patient care. This role involves autonomous practice within professional standards, ethical codes, and the Florida Nursing Practice Act. The RN is accountable for the quality of nursing services, participates in quality improvement initiatives, and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes. The RN also serves as an educator to peers, patients, and families, supporting service excellence and a healing environment. Responsibilities include identifying and communicating unit resource needs for budgeting purposes and performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Two current years of level II or II NICU experience required
  • Two current years of NICU experience required
  • Clear / Active FL RN License
  • American Heart Association BLS certification for Healthcare Providers
  • Current NRP
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert, and self-motivated.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN OR completed within 3 years of start date preferred
  • National Certification in Specialty within 2 years of hire date

Responsibilities

  • Applies nursing process and theories, as well as principles of psycho-social and physical sciences, in assessing, planning, diagnosing, implementing, evaluating, and modifying patient care utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Practices autonomously within professional nursing standards, the ANA Code of Ethics and the ANA Bill of Rights.
  • Strives for quality outcomes and innovative practice in accordance with the Florida Nursing Practice Act and the Hospital/departmental policies.
  • Ensures practice is in accordance with competency required for that area.
  • Is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self (or others who are under RN’s direction).
  • Participates in quality assurance or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Provides care in a collaborative manner with other disciplines to ensure optimal, individualized patient care and outcomes.
  • Takes a leadership role in managing patient care, coordinating the interdisciplinary team working in collaboration with other health team members to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Acts as an educator to their peers, patients, and their families.
  • Supports service excellence and a healing environment.
  • Identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
