About The Position
LCMC Health is seeking a nurse for a hands-on, diverse nursing role at West Jefferson Medical Center. The position focuses on delivering attentive, compassionate patient care and coordinating care in collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members. The nurse is expected to support safe, effective care and contribute to an inclusive, team-oriented culture.
Requirements
- Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate all care touchpoints for assigned patients.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
- Maintain and advocate for a safe environment for everyone.
- Monitor and communicate with patients, families, and appropriate care team members about significant events, changes in patient condition, and questions or concerns.
- Prevent and treat wounds.
- Monitor and carry out Joint Commission infection control and environment-of-care requirements.
- Support continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional patient experience.
- Consult with a supervisor when assignments or tasks cannot be completed promptly, effectively, or safely.
- Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum-of-care services.
- Assist team members without being asked.
