About The Position

This role is for a Nurse Resident in a 26-bed telemetry PCU that specializes in the care and management of Hospitalist medicine patients, with primarily Stroke and Neurology diagnoses. The Nurse Resident provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, and collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and adjust care plans while building clinical competency.

Requirements

Graduate of a State Board of Nursing approved program required.
None required.
Current Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Virginia required with less than 1 year of experience.
AHA BLS-HCP required.
Must attend required Nurse Residency Program sessions.
Keyboarding skills and computer literacy required, including use of electronic medical records.

Nice To Haves

For Behavioral Health roles, de-escalation training must be completed within 1 year of hire and maintained.
Additional certifications such as ACLS, PALS, or NRP may be required based on assigned work area.
