The Neuro Progressive Care Unit (PCU) is a 32‑bed unit within a Level I Trauma hospital that specializes in the care of patients with complex neurological conditions. The unit treats patients with diagnoses including stroke, seizure disorders, traumatic brain injury, and tumors of the brain and spine. Neuro PCU is also home to the Stroke Nursing Team, which responds to Stroke Alerts at Orlando Health Orlando Regional Medical Center as well as designated peripheral sites. This unit is an excellent fit for nurses with at least one year of RN experience who are looking to grow their clinical skills while supporting patients through recovery. Nurses in this setting play an important role in helping patients understand and adapt to changes in their condition. It also provides a strong foundation for those interested in advancing to higher acuity areas such as the Neuro ICU. The nurse administers patient care in a hospital inpatient or observation setting where acute care patients receive active treatment for injury, acute illness, medical conditions, or post‑intervention recovery. Candidates must have at least one year of RN experience and hold an active RN license.
