This position is eligible for up to a $25,000 sign-on bonus AND up to $24,000 Student Loan Assistance As our RN-ICU, you will play an important role in supporting both patients and the care team throughout each shift. Working alongside the Nurse Manager, you will help coordinate daily patient care assignments, support high standards of clinical care, and help create a positive, team-focused environment for patients, families, and staff. You will assist with patient flow throughout the unit, support day-to-day operations, and collaborate closely with other departments to ensure patients receive timely, quality care. In this role, you will use evidence-based nursing practices to help achieve the best possible patient outcomes while following the Kentucky Nurse Practice Act.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited program
  • Active Registered Nurse Licensure in Kentucky (KY) or eNLC licensure with multistate privileges in good standing
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
  • Previous nursing experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, Cardiac, Emergency, or Critical Care service lines

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct supervision of personnel practicing on Nursing Units, makes patient care assignments, evaluates assignments, facilitates patient throughout, and directly observes staff performance on their assigned shift.
  • Proactively matches existing resources seeking ways to provide patient care that supports staff and maintains a therapeutic environment.
  • Monitors productivity and assures that staffing and resources are aligned with patient care needs.
  • Communicates personnel related concerns to the Unit Manager.
  • Uses a logical, systematic approach to problems and problem-solving.
  • Facilitates Patient Experience best practices on the unit (hourly rounding, etc.)
  • Maintains Unit Professional standards. Holds staff accountable for behaviors and attitudes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of information of the department. Assists in audits and data collection as requested.
  • Contributes to the efficient operation of the department.
  • Performs direct patient care and accepts an assigned group of patients as needed.
