About The Position
The Neuro Critical Care Unit is a 14-bed Intensive Care Unit located in the Meijer Heart Center at Butterworth Hospital. As part of the Comprehensive Stroke Center, the largest stroke center in West Michigan, the Neuro ICU specializes in the care of patients with stroke or other neurological conditions such as Hemorrhagic stroke, Ischemic stroke, seizures, and Hydrocephalus requiring critical care. The nursing team operates collaboratively with nurse techs, intensivists, APPs, pharmacists, therapists, social workers, chaplains, and secretaries to provide specialized care. The unit fosters a culture of collaboration, kindness, teamwork, and learning, contributing to a low turnover rate among nurses who value their colleagues. Butterworth Hospital, the flagship hospital for Corewell Health Grand Rapids Hospitals, is a nationally recognized facility for patient quality and safety, located in Grand Rapids. The RN utilizes the nursing process framework to provide professional nursing care, incorporating patient-family centered care principles. This includes assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and discharging patients. The RN delivers quality patient care under the direction of the Nurse Leader, adhering to Corewell Health policies and procedures, and recognizes the impact of nursing care and patient/family partnerships on patient outcomes. The RN collaborates with patients and families, incorporating their input and goals into the plan of care, and develops and documents patient/family teaching strategies.
Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required within 6 months
Nice To Haves
- 6 months RN experience preferred
