About The Position

Build your Career. Make a Difference. Presbyterian is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) team. We welcome applications from both new graduates and experienced RNs! Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire
  • NRP and PALS after time of hire

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill neonates, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and maintaining specialized equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
  • Perform detailed assessments of neonates physical and emotional health, identifying any changes in condition and responding promptly.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and lactation consultants, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide parental education and emotional support, fostering a family-centered care approach to help parents understand their baby’s condition and participate in their care.
  • Utilize advanced NICU technology and equipment to ensure the highest standard of neonatal care.
  • Assist in preparing neonates for procedures or surgeries and provide post-procedure care.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and ensure the NICU environment is clean and safe.
