About The Position

The new NICU now occupies level 5 of the F-Tower for a total of 9000 square feet, compared to about 4500 square feet in the previous unit. After rebuilding the new NICU Unit, several improvements were made to make the Unit more conducive to privacy as well as individual space. The new NICU Unit contains a total of 17 beds. These beds are grouped into two pods of four beds each, seven individual NICU rooms, and two isolation rooms. Each individual NICU room estimates between 150-190 square feet. The new pods are approximately 600 square feet. As our Registered Nurse (RN), in the NICU you will be a pivotal healthcare professional, delivering compassionate, high-quality care that truly impacts our patients' well-being and recovery. Every day, you will leverage your expertise to provide individualized, comprehensive care, making critical assessments, performing skilled procedures, and meticulously implementing patient care plans. Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience in NICU
  • Minimum one (1) year current acute care registered nursing experience in specialty area
  • RN License Nurse: CA
  • AHA Basic Life Support
  • AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Fire Safety, within 90 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with EHR (Cerner, MediTech, etc)

Responsibilities

  • Applies clinical knowledge and expertise for coordinating patient care by regularly planning and evaluating the care of patients.
  • Establishes and maintains professional and collaborative relationships with other staff members, physicians, patients, patient family members, and the public as appropriate, while assuring confidentiality of all patient information.
  • Demonstrates effective nursing judgement and a working knowledge of the nursing process.
  • Provides guidance to interdisciplinary team members by supervising nursing interventions and assisting with related tasks.
  • Provides leadership by establishing priorities and coordinating nursing care.
