About The Position

Join Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus, a world-class healthcare organization, where research and surgery are advanced, technology is leading-edge, and patient care is exceptional. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus is a Level IV, state-of-the-art, 17-bed intensive care unit dedicated to caring for newborns with complex medical needs. Caregivers provide world-class patient care through an intricate nursing care model rooted in evidence-based practice, prioritizing patients. The unit also provides care for mothers with high-risk pregnancies, including cases involving high-risk conditions for the mother, fetus, or both. The nursing team actively participates in fetal surgeries and specialized procedures, performing advanced obstetric cases available at only a few centers worldwide. A PRN caregiver in this position works 1st and 3rd shift, 7:00am—7:30pm or 7:00pm—7:30am (12-hour shifts).

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ASN, BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (must be presented upon hire)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Status through the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • External applicants must have two years recent related nursing experience
  • Internal applicants with less than two years’ experience but post orientation /90 day probationary period could be considered with Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
  • Successfully pass all prescreen competency assessments
  • Will consider licensed military RN experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs
  • Educate patients and their families
