About The Position

Join Baylor Scott and White Medical Center – Irving as a Registered Nurse in our New Family Center. This unit provides couplet care for postpartum mothers and their infants following vaginal and cesarean section deliveries, focusing on family-centered care to ensure a successful transition home. The unit has a patient ratio of 6:1 (3 moms and 3 babies) and 24 beds. Our team includes nurses, PCTs, and lactation consultants, fostering an environment of amazing teamwork. Baylor Scott & White Medical Center- Irving is a 293-licensed bed facility that delivers care across various specialties and has been recognized for its excellence in multiple areas, including maternity care. We are seeking individuals who will serve faithfully, act honestly, never settle, and recognize that we are in it together to deliver world-class healthcare.

Requirements

• Graduate of an Accredited Nursing Program
• RN – Registered Nurse
• BLS – Basic Life Support (required within 30 days of hire)
• RN license
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.

Responsibilities

• Execute mother baby nursing functions in the care of new mothers and their newborns.
• Assist and support pregnant women in their healthy labor processes.
• Administer medications and intravenous fluids to mothers.
• Provide nursing care to newborn babies.
• Continuously monitor the health of new mothers and their babies.
