About The Position
This is a Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) RN position at a Level III Trauma Center. The unit has 20 beds and cares for a wide range of adult patients with diagnoses including Substance Abuse/Overdose, severe Psychiatric conditions, DKA, Sepsis, GI bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock. Attendings and Residents are present in the ICU 24 hours/day. Salem Hospital is a 400+ bed community facility with 220 Med Surg beds plus the ICU, Maternity, etc. Floating to Medical/Surgical Units is required.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN License.
- AHA BLS & ACLS certifications.
- 2+ years of continuous MICU experience.
- 2+ years of continuous work experience in one location, preferably a MICU.
- Must be able to read telemetry strips.
- Telemetry competency required.
Responsibilities
- Care for adult patients with a wide range of diagnoses in a Medical/Surgical ICU.
- Float to Medical/Surgical Units as needed.
- Read telemetry strips.
- Maintain telemetry competency.
