About The Position

Registered Nurse role on a 49-bed telemetry cardiac/medical unit. The unit cares for patients with CHF, COVID-19, respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, telemetry needs, post-catheterization care, and total joint replacements. Nurses interpret telemetry strips and sign off on them at least once per shift. The unit uses set-rate Diltiazem/Cardizem drips; nurses are not required to titrate drips. Nurse aides are available at a ratio of 1:10–15. The role includes one shift of unit orientation and may involve floating to East Campus or, if qualified, PCU.

Requirements

• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to read basic telemetry strips.
• Some experience with CVA and TIA patients.
• Experience with total joint replacements.
• Ability to interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift.

Nice To Haves

• Cerner experience is recommended.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to patients on a telemetry cardiac/medical unit.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips and sign at least once per shift.
• Care for patients with CHF, COVID-19, respiratory and gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, post-catheterization needs, and total joint replacements.
• Work with set-rate Diltiazem/Cardizem drips; drip titration is not required.
• Participate in self-scheduling for four-week schedules, subject to manager balancing.
• Work two weekends per four-week schedule and the specified holiday shifts.
• Float to East Campus and potentially to PCU if qualified.
