About The Position

The Med-Surg team at Piedmont Walton offers a fast-paced, hands-on environment on its 24-bed Medical-Surgical unit. The unit cares for a wide range of adult patients, including those with orthopedic needs, general and bariatric surgeries, cardiac/telemetry monitoring, and complex medical conditions. The RN-to-patient ratios typically range from 1:5–6 and PCTs from 1:6–9, promoting meaningful, team-based patient care. Team members gain valuable clinical experience with frequent opportunities to perform IV starts, assist with bedside procedures, provide wound care, manage NGTs and chest tubes, administer blood transfusions, and care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients. Nurses and PCTs may also float to assist with needs across the hospital, providing opportunities for well-rounded clinical growth and collaboration.

Requirements

• Graduate from a recognized, accredited school of nursing
• RN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
• BCLS - Basic Life Support
• ACLS Certification - (Nurse Residents or nurses new to specialty will complete applicable certifications within 6 months of start date) within 180 Days (applicable for Cardiac Tele and Surgical Services, which are part of MedSurg scope)

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree
• Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting
• 1 year in a hospital setting for PRN positions
