About The Position

Baylor University Medical Center is hiring a Registered Nurse for an acute care medicine telemetry unit. The unit cares for high-acuity patients with conditions and needs involving nephrology, hepatology, endocrinology, geriatrics, chronic cardiac disease, gastrointestinal disorders, cardiac arrhythmias, cardiac drips, insulin drips, and peritoneal dialysis. Patient ratios are 1:3–4, and the unit has 35 beds.

The role is scheduled full-time nights, with three 12-hour shifts (7–7) per week and rotating weekends. The unit offers self-scheduling, a personal clinical coach, a friendly and team-oriented staff, and a Unit Practice Council. Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• RN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• One year of recent hospital Med/Surg/Telemetry RN experience.

• Provide nursing care to acute care patients with high-acuity medical and telemetry needs.
• Contribute to safe, high-quality patient care and patient outcomes.
• Collaborate with the interprofessional team.
• Participate in shared governance and nursing practice improvement through unit-based councils.
