About The Position

UH Elyria Medical Center 9 Smythe is a 37-bed telemetry unit specializing in observation patients. Because the expectation is that patients admitted in observation status are in the hospital for less than 24 hours, our floor can be fast-paced. The relationship we have with our team and or patients is unique. Our team on 9 is a family and we work closely to deliver amazing care to our patients. This role provides safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients/families using the nursing process in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.

Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing or (ADN) Associate's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
• Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)
• Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)

Nice To Haves

• (BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit.
