About The Position

This downtown Stuart hospital provides top-quality patient care to the communities in and around Martin County on the beautiful St. Lucie River. The caregivers at Martin North Hospital have made it an excellent medical facility and a home away from home. Martin North Hospital’s newly established Med/Surg unit on the 2nd floor of the South Tower is a 12-bed unit that cares for a wide range of patients with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery. By joining this team as an RN, you will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. You will play a vital role at the forefront of patient care—serving as a patient advocate, attentive listener, and provider of essential daily needs. It will be your responsibility to escalate concerns when necessary and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality, compassionate care. This role offers tuition reimbursement, preceptorship, shared governance and the ability to take part in the unit practice council. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education, academic advancements and research and quality improvement opportunities, all of which can lead to climbing the professional ladder. A caregiver in this position works nights from 7:00PM – 7:30AM.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) - required within three years of hire

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
