Indian River Hospital’s 4 East Unit is a Medical/Surgical Unit that provides exceptional care to diverse populations of patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. As an RN on this team, you will learn and enhance your nursing skills through hands-on patient care experiences. Utilizing your nursing skills and knowledge, you can leave a lasting impact on everyone you meet. Here, you will join a family of caregivers who are engaged, highly communicative and dedicated. There are various opportunities for growth within the unit as well as community outreach projects and professional development. A caregiver in this position works days from 6:45AM – 7:15PM, with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider licensed military RN experience

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
