About The Position

Join Southcoast Health, a not-for-profit, charitable health system with multiple hospitals, clinics, and facilities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island. We are searching for an EXPERIENCED RN for the Med/Surg Unit on Atwood 3 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. Atwood 3 is a 45-bed primary surgical nursing unit specializing in general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, gynecology, urology, and vascular surgeries, as well as interventional radiology procedures. We are also a bariatric surgical center of excellence. Our patient population primarily consists of elective surgical cases, ranging in age from pediatric to geriatric, received from the recovery room. We provide basic arrhythmia detection via wireless Telemetry. The average length of stay is 3 days.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) months experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit.
Has knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.
