The 5th Floor Medical Surgical department is a 36-bed unit specializing in neuro, trauma, and ortho care, serving as the main service line for patients requiring Level 1 Trauma Center services. Patients are typically 16 years and above, with occasional overflow of general med/surg patients. The department fosters a strong culture of teamwork, high-quality, safe patient care, and positive patient interactions. The ideal candidate is a team player with a positive attitude, open communication skills, and a strong work ethic. This unit is considered a great starting point for those interested in Critical Care. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will be responsible for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with the healthcare team, patient, and family to identify and meet physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote optimal health, well-being, and safety through the nursing process, adhering to patient care standards, guidelines, and the State Nurse Practice Act. You will also demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
