About The Position

This is a Full Time Registered Nurse position in a Med/Surg unit. The role involves utilizing the nursing process for patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Responsibilities include patient and family education, direct patient care, assisting with training new employees, and adapting to staffing needs. The position requires basic computer skills and knowledge of the nursing process. It also emphasizes age-specific competency, information management, and cooperation with risk management, quality management, and safety activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing – Associate Degree or Diploma required.
• One-year relevant experience, graduates accepted based upon position availability.
• Current New Mexico License required or RN License with Multistate Compact privileges.
• BLS required.
• ACLS, PALS required or within 90 days of employment.

Nice To Haves

• TNCC and ENPC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process by demonstrating appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient's care.
• Teach patient/significant other appropriate health information in a timely manner and share written informational material.
• Perform direct patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards.
• Assist patients, family members or other clients with concern and empathy; respect their confidentiality and privacy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.
• Assist in the orientation/training of new employees.
• Assist other staff in the performance of their assignments.
• Recognize the need for variations in staffing and volunteer to fill open shifts.
• Take direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care.
• Demonstrate sound judgment by taking appropriate actions regarding questionable findings or concerns.
