About The Position
4 West is a 32-bed medical-surgical unit located within Butterworth Hospital. This unit is ideal for new nurses seeking experience and career growth. The patient population primarily consists of hospitalist medicine patients with a variety of diagnoses, including pneumonia, sepsis, cellulitis, kidney failure, and hyperglycemia. Butterworth Hospital frequently treats high-acuity patients, offering opportunities to develop acute care skills such as patient assessments, IV/urinary catheter/NG tube placement, managing rapid decline in patient condition, and using Endotool. 4 West is a well-established team that collaborates effectively not only among RNs and technicians but also with the interdisciplinary team, which includes hospitalists, care managers, social workers, pharmacy, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. Nurses and technicians on this unit have the flexibility of self-scheduling to promote work-life balance. Requirements
- Associates in Nursing Required
- Bachelors in Nursing Required within 5 years
- MI Registered Nurse (RN) Required
- AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) Required within 90 days
Responsibilities
- Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan.
- Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA, including ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
- Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
