About The Position
This is a full-time leadership position for a Med-Surg Unit Manager. The role involves overseeing the daily operations of the medical-surgical unit, ensuring safe and high-quality patient care, and managing staff. The position requires a strong clinical leader who can also manage budgets, supplies, and resource utilization, while supporting staff education and retention.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Graduate of accredited nursing program (BSN required)
- BLS required
- Previous Med-Surg experience required
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
Nice To Haves
- MSN preferred
- ACLS preferred
- Prior leadership or management experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the medical-surgical unit
- Ensure safe, high-quality patient care and compliance
- Manage staffing, scheduling, and staff performance
- Monitor patient flow, throughput, and unit efficiency
- Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
- Serve as clinical leader and resource for nursing staff
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Manage budget, supplies, and resource utilization
- Support staff education, onboarding, and retention
