About The Position

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking Registered Nurses to join their team at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. This role is on the Medical Telemetry Unit, a 38-bed unit providing individualized care for a varied medical/telemetry population. The unit offers learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities, including sepsis, pulmonary conditions, chest pain, infection, patients requiring isolation, skin and wound care, various procedures, enteral feeding tube care, cardiac monitoring, GI abnormalities, trach care, and genitourinary abnormalities.

Requirements

• Graduate of RN School of Nursing
• ADN required
• Must be licensed to practice professional nursing by the Texas Board of Nurse Examiners
• Grad of an Accredited Program
• Specialized field of study should be nursing.
• RN license.
• Must have BLS certification or get it within 30 days of starting in this role.

Responsibilities

• Providing a high level of direct and individualized care to a varied medical/telemetry population.
• Caring for patients with conditions such as sepsis, pulmonary conditions or respiratory distress, chest pain, and infection.
• Managing patients requiring isolation, including negative airflow rooms.
• Providing skin and wound care, including wound vacs.
• Assisting with procedures such as scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions, and chest tubes.
• Managing enteral feeding tubes.
• Providing cardiac monitoring.
• Caring for patients with GI abnormalities, trach care, and genitourinary abnormalities.
