About The Position

This is a full-time, 12-hour night-shift Registered Nurse position at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista. The Med/Surg Tele team provides nursing support to the Overflow unit and delivers patient- and family-centered care in a collaborative environment. Nurses may float to different units and have flexibility with their work schedules. The role is benefits eligible and may qualify for a new-hire and relocation incentive of up to $7,000, including relocation, subject to eligibility criteria.

The RN is responsible for direct patient care within the scope of practice, including assessing patients, planning and implementing care, and evaluating progress toward expected outcomes. The RN takes primary responsibility for patient care delivered by the Care Team under their supervision and collaborates with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal care.

Requirements

• Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current California RN license.
• Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• One year of recent RN experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to demonstrate positive behaviors.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience as an RN in Acute Care Med/Surg, Tele, PCU, or Stepdown.
• NIHSS certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
