The Med Surg Tele Oncology unit is a 33-bed unit specializing in the care of Oncology, Palliative Care and End of Life patients. The unit hosts 11 semi-private and 11 private rooms. RNs on Crapo maintain chemotherapy competency through the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) by achieving certification in chemotherapy-biotherapy administration. The unit also provides Telemetry monitoring for up to 10 patients. Southcoast Health has been voted ‘Best Place to Work’ for 7 years in a row.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent is required.
Current RN Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required.
Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired.

Nice To Haves

Three (3) months experience is preferred.
Obtain Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Administration Certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

Perform a variety of duties involving coordinating total nursing care for patients.
Participate in patient and family teaching.
Provide leadership by working cooperatively with ancillary nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice within an assigned patient care unit.
Provide care that is appropriate to the age group of patients regularly served.
