About The Position

Olympic Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for a 90% FTE night shift position. This role involves assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care within the facility. The RN will promote continuity of care, provide direct patient care, and supervise Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurses Assistants, Patient Care Aides, and other support staff. The position requires understanding of growth and development principles and the ability to assess age-specific patient needs. The RN will participate in patient and family teaching, maintain professional nursing standards, and support the hospital and nursing department's mission and philosophy. The role may involve emergency care and handling crisis situations, with occasional irregular hours.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required.
  • Current Washington State RN license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Two years experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • PALS certification required within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the nursing care of patients within the facility.
  • Promotes continuity of care for patients on the unit, providing direct patient care as well as supervising the care given by Licensed Practical Nurses, Certified Nurses Assistants, Patient Care Aides and other support staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflecting the patient’s status.
  • Interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements concerning his or her age-specific needs.
  • Provides the care needed as described in the department/unit policies and procedures.
  • Participates in patient and family teaching.
  • Maintains standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
  • Demonstrates the values contained in the Hospital and Nursing Department mission and philosophy statements.
  • Supports and promotes a positive image of professional nursing and OMC.
