Fairview Hospital’s Parkview I Oncology and Women’s Health nursing unit focuses on Oncology, emphasizes women's health and surgery, and provides comprehensive care and caring services for adults who have medical and surgical diagnoses. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care throughout the patient care journey. You will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. How You’ll Benefit Our caregivers continue to create the best outcomes for our patients across each of our facilities. We’re dedicated to providing what matters most to you. Our Center for Workplace Violence Prevention and Caregiver Well-Being sets caregiver safety as a priority, identifying, reporting and responding to incidents and providing safety resources. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working a day/night rotation between 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • External applicants: two years of recent related nursing
  • Internal applicants: less than two years of experience, but post-orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer level review and approval
  • Military RN experience considered
  • Obtain chemotherapy competency within the first six months, with additional training in end-of-life care and intravenous therapy (IV)
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Maintain professional growth and development through ongoing formal and informal education and clinical nursing study.
