About The Position

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Neuro Stroke Services department. The nurse plans, executes, and evaluates nursing care for Neuro Stroke Med-Surg patients. The role includes developing and implementing individual care plans, administering medications, managing IV therapy, coordinating patient placement and care assignments, evaluating patient safety, and educating patients about their treatment plans.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Basic computer and hospital informatics skills.
• Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Nevada.
• Independently maintain nursing licensure and acquire required contact hours to maintain practice.
• Comply with hospital employee health, infection control, and safety management programs.
• Hold specialty certifications where required, such as Chemotherapy, ACLS, PALS, or NIHSS.

Nice To Haves

• BSN preferred.
• Current acute clinical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with nursing practice standards using the nursing process and nursing diagnoses.
• Administer ordered medications to assigned patients, demonstrating knowledge of their actions, side effects, and contraindications.
• Initiate, regulate, and manage IV therapy for assigned patients.
• Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assign care responsibilities with consideration for each patient’s care complexity.
• Evaluate patient environments for safety and communicate concerns promptly to the appropriate person.
• Provide patient education and keep patients informed about their treatment plans.
• Plan, execute, and evaluate nursing care for Neuro Stroke Med-Surg patients.
