About The Position

The Registered Nurse Float position in Hoboken is a dynamic nursing role designed to provide flexible and comprehensive patient care across multiple nursing departments. Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New Jersey or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Minimum of 2 year of Med Surg/Telemetry experience in an acute care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Experience working as a float nurse or in multiple hospital units.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as MediTech.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in various hospital units, including medical-surgical, telemetry, emergency, and intensive care as needed.
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, monitor vital signs, and administer medications and treatments according to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient information accurately and timely in electronic health records to ensure continuity and quality of care.
  • Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition, initiating appropriate interventions and escalating care when necessary.
  • Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements to ensure a safe care environment.
