The RN Manager communicates regularly with residents and their families about Plans of Care, PT, OT, and other treatment protocols. This role involves attending and participating in morning meetings/stand-ups to facilitate team communication, answering resident questions about their care, treatment plans, and illness progression to ensure they feel safe and secure. The position requires monitoring and adjusting resident statuses based on changing needs and conditions, organizing and prioritizing daily work by assessing the needs of new, current, and discharging residents, and completing required documentation. The RN Manager performs utilization review activities to ensure resident-appropriate, timely, and cost-effective care, coordinates care with residents, providers, financial services, and third-party payers, and oversees all admissions and discharge activities. This role also coordinates referrals to and from the facility and requires the ability to relate positively and effectively with residents, families, staff, and professional colleagues. Accurate charting and timely completion of necessary paperwork are essential, as is the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, providers, payers, residents, and their families. Effective communication and promotion of cooperation and collaboration among individuals are crucial. Excellent time management skills are needed to develop organized work processes in a high-volume environment with rapidly changing priorities. Intermediate computer skills and competence in maintaining professional, respectful, and honest interactions are required.
