About The Position

East Tennessee Behavioral Health is growing and searching for an experienced RN Manager to join their team of professionals. As Knoxville's newest behavioral health hospital, they provide a full continuum of behavioral health treatment services for adults and seniors, aiming to deliver compassionate, personalized care. The RN Manager assists the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring, and supervising the effective and efficient use of nursing operations for assigned units. This role oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude, collaborating with interdisciplinary treatment teams and other departments to ensure all resident needs are met. The position also provides leadership to ensure compliance with regulations and nursing standards, with patient safety as a top priority.

Requirements

Current registered nursing license in State of facility required
Two years of registered nursing experience required
One year of charge RN or other administrative experience required
CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility)
First aid may be required based on state or facility.

Nice To Haves

BSN or higher strongly preferred
Three years as a registered nurse strongly preferred
Two years of prior experience as a registered nursing with patient population of the facility is preferred.
One year of prior experience with the population required
Prior experience as a house supervisor strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Assists the DON/CNO with directing, planning, coordinating, monitoring and supervising the effective and efficient use of the operations of nursing for assigned units.
Oversees the delivery of behavioral health/nursing services in a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude toward customers at all times.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary treatment teams, other departments and administration to ensure that all residents’ physical, biopsychosocial, age, developmental and cultural needs are met and when they are not met, acknowledges and works to resolve customer complaints.
Provide leadership to assure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as nursing practice standards.
Recognizes that patient safety is a top priority.
Anticipates and effectively manage changes in census and acuity and allocates nursing resources based on measurement of patient acuity/care needed.
Role models expectations related to customer service and demonstrates a sense of urgency related to the importance of patient safety.
Accountable for the standard of care at the facility, providing consultations and expertise in the delivery of care to patient.
Serve as a clinical and service resource to nursing staff and other staff as assigned.
Manage the activities of staff, coordinating safe and appropriate care between departments and disciplines.
Manage and evaluate work activities of nursing, technical, clerical, service or maintenance staff for the unit, work group and other facility staff as directed.
Analyze information/situation to choose the best solution(s) to solve problems.
Responsible for recruitment, hiring and training of new staff.
Identify the educational needs of others and develop educational or training programs.
Assist with the development and implementation of organizational policies and procedures for the facility.
Prepare reports to inform management of the status and implementation of programs, services and quality initiatives of the unit.
Perform administrative or managerial functions such as planning budgets and authorizing expenditures.
Provide direct care as needed.
Perform other functions and tasks as assigned.
