The Clinical Operations Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of nursing departments. The Manager provides direct supervision of the nursing supervisors and ensures appropriate resource allocation by providing oversight of the central resource pool(s). The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of organizational objectives. The Manager may assume additional responsibilities and duties as assigned, depending on organizational needs. Established in 1974, Henrico Doctors Hospital is a 340-bed community hospital offering cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, oncology, physical therapy, womens services and a 24/7 emergency department. Requirements

  • RN with minimum 5 years experience

Nice To Haves

  • Prior nursing administration or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provides operational oversight for nursing supervisors, ensuring appropriate management of daily staffing needs throughout the facility
  • Maintains skillset to function as nursing supervisor
  • Ensures resources are appropriately and fairly allocated according to hospital needs, patient acuity and skill mix.
  • Serves as Facility Scheduler Administrator (FSA)
  • Ensures compliance with scheduling excellence through review of posted schedules, analysis of trends, and reeducation of nursing leadership as needed
  • Partners with throughput manager and provides operational oversight of clinical decision unit/short stay unit, ensuring appropriate use of capacity and resources to facilitate throughput efficiency
  • Develops goals for Nursing Administration and provides ongoing coaching, mentorship, and development of team
  • Assists with facility-wide projects as directed by CNO/ACNO
  • Collaborates with ancillary departments to resolve issues and improve work flow processes throughout the organization using a proactive approach
  • Provides clinical consultation and guidance as needed to assist in patient care and throughput
  • Promotes open communication and facilitates staff involvement in decision-making, conflict resolution, and collegiality
  • Communicates in an effective, professional manner
  • Attend, facilitate, and encourage staff participation in departmental projects, hospital committees, and professional practice councils
