About The Position

An acute care Level II Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center is seeking an experienced RN Manager to lead a 23-bed Neuro Trauma Progressive Care Unit. This leadership role oversees daily operations, quality initiatives, staff development, patient satisfaction, and clinical excellence for a specialized unit caring for complex neurological and trauma patients. The ideal candidate will possess strong neuro-trauma clinical expertise, progressive leadership experience, and a passion for team development, patient-centered care, and operational excellence. Strong candidates may include current Nurse Managers, Clinical Nurse Coordinators, Supervisors, or seasoned Charge Nurses seeking advancement into formal nursing leadership.

Requirements

  • Active New Hampshire RN License or Compact RN License
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or related Bachelor's Degree
  • BLS Certification within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS Certification within 30 days of hire
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing leadership experience as a Coordinator, Supervisor, Manager, or higher
  • Strong knowledge of neuro and trauma patient care

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational and clinical leadership for the Neuro Trauma Progressive Care Unit.
  • Manage day-to-day department operations including staffing, scheduling, patient throughput, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct patient and family rounding to improve service excellence and patient satisfaction.
  • Partner with clinical educators to support competency development and staff education.
  • Collaborate with resource nurses to coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Participate in recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and staff retention efforts.
  • Support performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and employee development initiatives.
  • Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, medication scanning compliance, and documentation standards.
  • Lead regulatory compliance efforts and ensure adherence to nursing and specialty practice standards.
  • Assist with budget management, supply utilization, equipment oversight, and operational planning.
  • Participate in staff meetings, quality committees, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Support direct patient care during periods of high census, staffing challenges, or emergency situations.
