About The Position

Stella Maris partners with the Jesuits and staffs the Colombiere Jesuit Retirement Facility on Roland Ave. The role provides nursing care to the fathers and brothers of the Jesuit Order in a community focused on compassionate care and excellent clinical and residential services. The position coordinates total nursing care for residents in assigned areas and provides leadership in collaboration with nursing personnel and interdisciplinary team members. It is full-time, 80 hours biweekly, with a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. schedule.

Requirements

Current RN or LPN license.

Responsibilities

Coordinate total nursing care for residents in assigned areas and provide leadership while working cooperatively with ancillary nursing personnel and interdisciplinary team members.
Use the nursing process and interdisciplinary team approach to identify resident needs and provide appropriate interventions.
Provide direct resident care in accordance with facility and professional nursing standards.
Delegate tasks to LPNs, CMAs, GNAs, unit aides, and unit secretaries.
Monitor residents’ physical and mental status, respond to clinical changes and emergencies, and communicate professionally with staff, residents, medical practitioners, and family members.
Answer resident call lights and serve as a role model for the care team.
Complete documentation in accordance with facility, regulatory, and professional nursing standards.
Follow and enforce infection control standards, emergency procedures, safety policies, and hazardous material procedures; direct staff during unanticipated situations as needed.
Use supplies and materials prudently and maintain a clean, orderly, comfortable environment that supports resident safety.
