RN / LPN (PT) 11pm to 7am
About The Position
This is a part-time position for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working the 11pm to 7am shift. The role involves assisting in planning and implementing resident care based on physician orders, evaluating care, and communicating with doctors for order updates. Responsibilities include administering medication, IVs, and shots, updating patient records, providing emotional support and patient education, performing basic diagnostics, and other patient procedures. The nurse will receive and transcribe physician orders, monitor vital signs, respond to emergencies, and coordinate resident appointments and transportation, including scheduling labs and transcribing results. Additionally, the role involves supervising CNAs and LPNs as Charge Nurse, ensuring they provide care according to physician orders and care plans. Requirements
- Must be currently licensed in the State of Florida as a Registered Nurse.
- Must be CPR Certified.
Nice To Haves
- One year of long term care desirable.
- Med-Surg, Home Health experience helpful.
- Experience working with the elderly, physically or developmentally disabled adults preferred.
- Will train on-the-job in lieu of above experience.
Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable rules, policies, standards, and guidelines.
- Assist in planning resident care by following physician orders.
- Implement resident care based on physician orders.
- Evaluate care and communicate with doctors for updates of orders.
- Administer medication, IVs, and give shots.
- Update patient records.
- Provide emotional support and patient education.
- Perform basic diagnostics and other patient procedures for residents.
- Receive and transcribe orders from attending physicians.
- Monitor blood glucose, temperature, and blood pressure when necessary.
- Respond to all emergencies.
- Schedule doctor’s appointments and coordinate transportation for the residents.
- Schedule labs and transcribe lab results.
- Supervise CNA's and LPN’s as Charge Nurse – ensure they are providing resident care based on physician orders and defined care plans.
