About The Position

A Nursing Career Where Your Care Makes a Difference Looking for a nursing role where you can build meaningful relationships, use your clinical skills, and truly get to know the people you care for? Walnut Hills, part of nonprofit Greencroft Communities, is looking for a compassionate RN or LPN to join our Assisted Living team. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on nursing care while serving as an important resource and leader for our Nursing Assistants. You’ll get to know our residents, recognize changes in their health and well-being, and work alongside a supportive team to make sure each resident receives safe, respectful, and individualized care. With full-time 12-hour shifts, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a schedule that provides more days away from work.

Requirements

• Current, active RN or LPN license in the state of Ohio in good standing.
• Ability to maintain licensure as required by the facility and state.
• Strong observation, assessment, and clinical judgment skills.
• Knowledge of medications commonly administered to older adults and their potential side effects.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to lead, supervise, and collaborate with Nursing Assistants and other team members.
• A patient, professional, positive, and compassionate approach when working with residents, families, and coworkers.
• A genuine desire to build relationships and make a difference in the lives of older adults.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with older adults or in long-term care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care and oversee care provided by Nursing Assistants.
• Receive and provide thorough shift-to-shift resident reports.
• Assign and supervise duties of Nursing Assistants.
• Monitor residents for changes in condition, needs, and overall well-being.
• Complete routine nursing assessments and monitoring, including vital signs, weights, food intake, and behaviors.
• Administer medications and treatments and perform diagnostic tests as ordered.
• Accurately document resident care and changes in resident status.
• Communicate changes in condition to physicians, families, and appropriate members of the care team.
• Process physician orders, admissions, and discharges.
• Complete incident reports and other required documentation.
• Help ensure the nursing unit is properly stocked with medications and supplies.
• Work collaboratively with Nursing Assistants, nurses, residents, families, and other members of the care team.
• Help create a positive, respectful environment where residents feel safe, valued, and cared for.
• Support the mission and values of Greencroft Communities in everything you do.
