About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Cath Lab. While weekends and holidays are generally free, the position requires emergent on-call duties due to the specialized nature of cath lab nursing. The role involves taking the lead in prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating patient care, explaining procedures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and physicians, maintaining a safe environment, monitoring patients and communicating significant events, executing infection control requirements, ensuring continuity of care, and initiating patient education. Requirements

  • Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
  • Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
  • ICU experience.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • Experience in an acute care hospital preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for patients.
  • Explaining procedures to patients and families as appropriate.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members and working alongside physicians to ensure excellent patient care and outcomes.
  • Maintaining and advocating for a safe environment for everyone.
  • Monitoring and engaging with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
  • Monitoring and executing Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
  • Ensuring continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
  • Advising and consulting with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
  • Initiating patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
  • Assisting others without being asked to contribute to the team.
