About The Position

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an excellent opportunity for a civilian RN at Nellis Air Force Base, in Las Vegas Nevada. This position is in an outpatient environment with updated facilities, emphasizing work-life balance with freedom from on-call responsibilities. The role offers the chance to care for a compliant and appreciative patient population, including the Nation's military and their dependents.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizen
  • Bachelor’s Degree of Nursing.
  • Graduate from a college or university accredited by National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC), or The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Three years of experience in nursing as identified in the TO after graduation.
  • Active BLS from American Red Cross or Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals in the provision of patient care to achieve optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with standards of care and practice in accordance with all established policies, procedures, and guidelines used in the MTF.
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and numerous other personalized interventions.
  • Provide care in coordination with other healthcare professionals.
  • Meet with all patients to assess their needs and document form of feeding/risks/benefits.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and react quickly in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people to inform the healthcare team of plans/actions, and for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
  • Make referral appointments and arrange specialty care as appropriate.
  • Conduct research in support of improved practice and patient outcomes.
  • Perform comprehensive lactation assessment of the mother and her infant within the hospital setting in accordance with the policy and guidelines of postpartum and newborn nursery care required for Government beneficiaries.
  • Provide comprehensive care to the perinatal mother desiring to lactate.
  • Assess mothers and newborns for normal/abnormal anatomy to determine ability to breastfeed.
  • Create a social environment that promotes learning for staff and patients.
  • Conduct bedside lactation rounds daily.
