About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (RN) to provide compassionate, high-quality care throughout the antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum phases. The ideal candidate will have strong maternal-child nursing experience and be comfortable managing high-acuity laboring patients in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Requirements
- Active New York State RN License.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN/ASN) or higher.
- Current AHA BLS Certification.
- Current AHA ACLS Certification.
- Current NRP Certification.
- Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience.
- Minimum 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience.
- Strong assessment and critical care skills.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with high-risk obstetric patients.
- Strong fetal monitoring and maternal-child nursing background.
- Experience working in a high-volume Labor & Delivery setting.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care in the Labor & Delivery unit.
- Monitor and interpret Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) strips.
- Administer and manage conscious sedation according to established protocols.
- Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, medication administration, and patient care coordination.
- Assess, triage, and admit patients while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Respond effectively to maternal and neonatal emergencies.
- Maintain patient safety and confidentiality at all times.
