About The Position
Baystate Health, a premier healthcare provider in western Massachusetts and home to Baystate Medical Center (BMC), a Magnet Hospital for Nursing Excellence, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for its Labor and Delivery Unit. The Wesson Women’s and Infants unit is a labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum unit featuring 38 patient rooms, three operating rooms, a PACU, three nurse’s stations, one newborn nursery, and a Welcome Center. The unit performs approximately 4,000 births annually and houses the only perinatal/high-risk antepartum unit between Albany, New York, and Hartford, CT, along with a Level III NICU staffed by neonatologists 24 hours a day. Baystate Medical Center has achieved Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), signifying its nursing staff as among the finest nationally. The hospital emphasizes shared decision-making between bedside nurses and nurse leaders on matters such as resources, nursing research, evidence-based practice projects, new equipment purchases, and staffing. Baystate Health is committed to safety and education, providing PPE coaches and educators on-site and appropriate resources for patient and staff care. The organization is accredited to offer continuing education programs for nurses, with learning and mentoring central to its professional practice model. Baystate supports nurses in obtaining certification and professional growth through national conference attendance, loan reimbursement, and loan forgiveness.
Requirements
- Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient RN experience required
- Diploma in Nursing (Required)
