Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited associate degree of nursing program (ADN)
  • Minimum one year recent clinical experience in Labor and Delivery. (Not applicable to New Grad RN’s)
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of obstetrical procedures and protocols
  • Must be able to work in a union environment.
  • Current California RN License
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Basic EKG Certification
  • NRP – Advanced Course (American Academy of Pediatrics or American Heart Association)
  • Intermediate FHM (AWHONN) or C-EFM
  • Advanced FHM (AWHONN)
  • Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of hire)
  • Los Angeles County Fire and Safety Card (required within 30 days of hire)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor degree preferred (BSN)
  • Acute Care setting preferred
  • Computer Skills
  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR)

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Clinical Nurse Director, this position is responsible for planning, directing, delegating, coordinating, communicating high quality, individualized patient care using the components of the nursing process.
