About The Position

Are you passionate about supporting the physical, emotional, and cultural needs of patients and their families during one of life’s most meaningful moments? We invite you to bring your expertise and compassion to our Labor and Delivery team at the Birthplace – a place where innovation meets heart. At the Birthplace, we care for a culturally diverse community, including families from across Minnesota needing advanced care due to high-risk pregnancies or fetal diagnoses. Our interdisciplinary model includes OB Physicians, Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists, Family Practice Physicians, Certified Nurse Midwives, and In-house Anesthesiologists. We proudly partner with the University of Minnesota to support nursing students and medical residents through clinical learning and observation. This collaboration enriches our environment with evidence-based practice and a strong culture of continuous professional development. Our unit features 14 Labor Rooms, 3 Triage Bays, 3 ORs, and 10 Pregnancy Special Care Rooms. We support AWHONN-supported nurse-to-patient ratios and offer various labor support options such as birthing balls, slings, tubs, and ambulation, as well as student or personal doulas to promote low-intervention birth and reduce primary cesarean rates. Pain management options include epidurals, nitrous oxide, labor slings, and clinical aromatherapy.
